Golden House Victim Advocate Katie Knapp: “Victims are definitely lost in the current criminal justice system.”

The highlighted video features Golden House Victim Advocate Katie Knapp. “Marsy’s Law is needed because I’ve seen victims of crime come into our office and they are upset and confused and emotionally hurt, and physically hurt sometimes too,” Knapp says in the video. “Victims are definitely lost in the current criminal justice system.”

Started in 1979 as a telephone helpline for battered women, Green Bay-based Golden House is a comprehensive domestic violence program serving victims in Brown County. According to the organization’s website, Golden House’s mission is to, “provide safety and support for victims of domestic abuse while leading efforts to end domestic violence in our community.”
