Right On Crime Event Highlights Crime Victims’ Needs
With about 75 attendees, Marsy’s Law for Florida was represented at the Right On Crime Dinner & Discussion hosted by the James Madison Institute. Former Georgia State Representative Jay Neal was the featured guest speaker for this magnificent event.
The evening focused on conservative and compassionate ways to fix the criminal justice system. One of Right on Crime’s priority issues is addressing victims. Right on Crime believes that during the investigation and prosecution of crimes, victims must be included at every stage and meaningfully empowered. Additionally, they believe the corrections system should be held accountable for cost-effectively improving public safety and victim restitution.
There was also a panel discussion by some of Florida’s top policymakers, legislators and thought leaders, including former Speaker Dean Cannon, former Speaker Steve Crissafulli, former Senate President Mike Haridopolos, and Senator Jeff Brandes.
The team appreciated this opportunity to connect with the conservative side of the criminal justice reform community, focusing on fighting crime, supporting victims and protecting taxpayers. There was a lot of support for Marsy’s Law for Florida within the group.
