Marsy’s Law for Oklahoma SQ 794 Campaign to Launch September 13 in Oklahoma City

Crime victims’ rights organization to host first in series of kickoff events featuring local speakers

OKLAHOMA CITY – Marsy’s Law for Oklahoma, crime victims’ rights legislation appearing on the November 2018 ballot as State Question 794, will launch its statewide campaign announcement over two days beginning on Wednesday morning, September 13, 2017, in Oklahoma City with a press conference at the Park House Events Center.

The launch of SQ 794 comes after the bipartisan passage of Marsy’s Law for Oklahoma, known during the 2017 session as SJR 46, through the state legislature this past April.

Additional press conferences will take place in Tulsa during the afternoon of September 13 and in Lawton on September 14. All events are open to the public.

Upon final passage by a vote of the people in the next general election, Marsy’s Law for Oklahoma SQ 794 will ensure that constitutionally enforced rights are afforded to victims of crime, equal, or “co-equal,” to those afforded and guaranteed to the accused and convicted.
