Marsy’s Law, a constitutional amendment for crime victims’ rights, heads to the ballot this November
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Marsy’s Law will be hosting a celebration at the Kentucky State Capitol on Friday, April 13 at 12pm to kick off the Marsy’s Law statewide voter campaign and celebrate National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. Marsy’s Law is a constitutional amendment that if adopted by voters in November, would create a Crime Victims’ Bill of Rights in the Kentucky Constitution.
The widely supported, bipartisan legislation sponsored by Sen. Whitney Westerfield of Hopkinsville was the first bill to pass during the 2018 General Assembly. The amendment will ensure crime victims are treated fairly and afforded rights equal to the accused during the judicial process.
