Why We Do What We Do, Featuring State Senator Whitney Westerfield

State Senator Whitney Westerfield is a strong advocate for victims’ rights and has been a steadfast champion for Marsy’s Law for Kentucky. As the primary bill sponsor in both 2018 and 2020, he has played a critical role in ensuring that victims of crime in Kentucky have equal constitutional rights.

He has testified before the state legislature on behalf of MLKY, highlighted the importance of Marsy’s Law in media interviews with reporters across the state, authored op-eds explaining why Kentucky needs Marsy’s Law, and remained a constant voice of support for victims and survivors.

Senator Westerfield has represented District 3 in western Kentucky (Christian, Logan and Todd counties) since 2013, and he currently serves as the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. In addition to his leadership in the Kentucky General Assembly, Senator Westerfield serves on the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Association of Child Advocacy Centers, a crucial statewide resource for victims and families dealing with abuse.

Please join us for the fourth episode of our ongoing Facebook Live video series, "Why We Do What We Do," as we discuss Senator Westerfield’s experience standing up for crime victims, why he supports Marsy’s Law, and why voters in Kentucky should continue to support Marsy's Law.
