 S.A.F.E. House is a community-based nonprofit organization committed to Stop Abuse in the Family Environment. Beth Flory joined S.A.F.E. House in 2009 and has served as Executive Director since 2021. Since its inception, S.A.F.E. House has provided shelter, counseling, advocacy, housing assistance, and education to more than 100,000 victims of domestic violence from Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, and beyond.

NASHVILLE, TN – Today, the Tennessee Senate passed Marsy’s Law (HJR 0094). The joint resolution will now go back through the legislature for final passage in the 2025 and 2026 legislative sessions. Marsy’s Law is a proposed constitutional amendment that ensures victims of crime have enforceable rights and protections.

Paige Dinger is the Executive Director of the Faces of Hope Foundation in Boise. The foundation plays a critical role in the day-to-day operations of the nonprofit victim center through fundraising and leadership. 

Every year, Faces of Hope helps hundreds of men, women, and children who turn to the victim center at times of crisis and need. We thank her for taking the time to discuss the victim experience and how Marsy’s Law for Idaho is designed to help crime victims.

As we close out 2023, we wanted to take note of a recent development in the U.S. Senate that bodes well for crime victims here in Idaho and the rest of the country.

For many of us, the holiday season is a time of joy, warmth, and togetherness. However, for victims of crime who have experienced trauma, the holiday season can bring about increased stress, fear, anger, or anxiety. It’s important to recognize the unique challenges faced by survivors so we can collectively foster a more supportive and understanding environment during this season.
